How it Works
A lip flip is a cosmetic procedure where a small amount of botulinum toxin (commonly known as Botox) is injected into the muscles around the upper lip. Unlike lip fillers, which add volume to the lips, a lip flip relaxes the muscles, causing the upper lip to gently roll upward, resulting in a fuller appearance without adding volume.
While both lip fillers and lip flips aim to enhance the appearance of the lips, they achieve this through different mechanisms. Lip fillers use hyaluronic acid or other substances to physically add volume to the lips, while a lip flip involves injecting botulinum toxin into the muscles around the lips to relax them, allowing the upper lip to roll slightly upward.
The results of a lip flip are subtle and typically include a slight upward curl of the upper lip, creating the appearance of fuller lips. This technique can also help smooth out fine lines and wrinkles around the mouth. It's essential to have realistic expectations and understand that the results may vary from person to person.
